The setting is in Paris’ Opera house, where “the Phantom” – a disfigured man, lives isolated from the rest of the world and considers the opera house his. He falls in love, and even becomes obsessed with one of the young opera singers, Christine. He wants her to be the lead character and starts threatening the new management if they don’t obey him.

Christine on the other hand, falls in love with another man, Raoul, which the Phantom doesn’t take very well.

Well worth a visit! The effects were mind blowing. One of the best shows ever seen!

I first saw Phantom over 8 years ago but in now way has it lost its magic. The acting, singing and gothic atmosphere are still spot on. Also the stage effects continue to amaze, in particular the scenes in the boat under the opera house. I thought the performance of Gina Beck who is currently playing the role of Christine Daaé was was particularly impressive. She has a great voice. Special mention should also go to Simon Bailey who plays Raoul. A five star show!

Excellent! On all counts I loved this show. For me the best show in London's West End. The sets are great, the songs memorable and the acting is spot on. This is Andrew Lloyd Webber at his best. I almost wish he wasn't making a sequel as I'm not sure this can be beaten!

Essentially a love story, there are enough elements in this show to appeal to the masses. The gothic feel of the show comes across really well, the haunting atmosphere is maintained throughout the show. For me this is the benchmark for a musical. Go and see it!

I think everyone should see this at least once in a lifetime! It has everything a musical should have - wonderful music and singing, amazing costumes and great sets. And a powerful, haunting love story. For a first timer I would advise reading the programme notes before the start as the story line could be a bit confusing. A brilliant show and one I would happily see again and again.

This gothic style musical is grand, and one of, if not the, best musical in London. Andrew Lloyd Webbers’ music is fantastic and the show is exciting from beginning to end, full of special effects. I will definitely see this one again.
