York Theatre Royal's stage production of E Nesbit's popular 1906 novel The Railway Children comes to London, staged in the former Eurostar terminal in Waterloo Station. One of the country’s best loved novels will come to life using this unique theatre setting that will be converted into a 1,000 seat venue with audiences sitting either side of a real railway track. The Railway Children tells the story of Bobby, Peter and Phyllis, three children whose lives change dramatically when their father is mysteriously taken away. They move from London to a cottage in rural Yorkshire with their mother where they befriend the local railway porter and embark on a magical journey of discovery, friendship and adventure. But the mystery remains - where is their father and is he ever coming back?
