At the outbreak of World War One, Joey, young Albert’s beloved horse, is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France. He’s soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary odyssey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in no man’s land. But Albert cannot forget Joey and, still not old enough to enlist, he embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home.

Warhorse is for the kind of people who go gooey over horses. I know that ought to be obvious, but I was expecting a better deconstruction of WWI. The posh have always cared more about animals than people (that's why we got the RSPCA 60 yrs before the NSPCC). Millions of Tommies died, but the descendents of the Officer Class get their knickers in a twist over a horse. Journey's End it was not. It's not even the Accrington Pals. And there's far too much shouting. Ever heard of projection, guys?
